ARTIST STATEMENT

My painting practice is rooted in everyday reality, while reflecting on the tension between personal experience and the broader social context in which it unfolds. Working primarily with figurative imagery, I am drawn to moments when the familiar loses its stability and ordinary life shifts into a kind of limbo — a space between the real and the imagined, the recognizable and the irrational.

Human figures, animals and urban environments recur throughout my work. Through them, everyday situations can become strange, ambiguous or mythological, while retaining traces of lived experience and the social reality from which they emerge.

I work mainly on canvas, using vinyl emulsion and acrylic, and more recently oil. My paintings usually develop in series. Most remain untitled and are identified by numbers, allowing individual works to stay open to interpretation while becoming part of an ongoing visual narrative.
